Search engines and directories are still the main source of new visitors to websites. Some estimate that 85% of new visitors to a website find the site by way of a web search.

It is critical to get listed in the top six plus engines.  Don't fall for the - 500-site submission for 29.95 bit! Submitting to 500 sites is a waste of time and further, no person can accomplish intelligent search engine submission for 29.95.

It is critical that the person or firm submitting your site to the search engines know what they are doing and are keeping abreast of the changes that occur almost daily in this area.

You might wish to consider paid search - it gets results.

Below are listed some techniques to give you a flavor of our approach:

  • Site Descriptions and Meta tags. Both of these tasks are essential to getting the site the best possible placement in the top search engines. This consists of writing a site title; develop keywords phrases (between 6-10), and a 25-word site description. Fewer and fewer search engines are actually crawling sites but we believe development of Tags is a critical step in web design and content development.  We use the keyword phrases developed in the content of the site.
  • Site submission to Search Engines and directories. As the face of Internet searching keeps changing more and more of the portals are using search data from a few select sources.
  • Specialty directories.  Depending on the business type there are directories and even search engines focused on narrow business areas.  You may need to be there.
  • Local versions of Search Engines.  If you have a local focus this is a must.  Visite our local marketing page for more details.
  • E-commerce site.  You may wish to submit your products to Froogle, Google's shopping comparison site.
  • Local Portal sites such as a newspaper site or a local community site are valuable for local marketers.
  • Pay-per-Click.  A great way to get more immediate value from your internet presence.

These are basic items that we use.  There are many more and their use will depend on the type of site being marketed.
